Born in Brisbane on October 27, 1992, Charles always wanted to be on screen, and loved performing in home videos from an early age. Growing up in a close knit family of three boys (one older, one younger) Charles started acting classes in year eight at The Australian Acting Academy, and graduated from High school (where he was Drama captain) last year.
Music is a passion Charles inherited from his family (his father plays guitar, his brothers play saxophone and piano) and has played drums for 10 years and was part of an indie rock band in Brisbane.
Charles auditioned for the role of Dexter on the Gold Coast, and had a call back to come to Sydney the next day. The following day, he found out he had the role;
“I love Dexter; I don’t think I could have got a more perfect character. He has a difficult relationship with his father, who has disappointed him many times, but he uses his sense of humor as a coping mechanism, so he often gets the best lines in the script, he’s great fun to play.
“I’m so happy to be joining Home and Away. Moving from Brisbane was a big step, but the cast and crew have gone out of their way to make me feel at home.”
